Nobody knows exactly when. But roughly a thousand years ago a star fell from the sky — and after that, nothing was ever the same again.
In the wake of the impact, strange stones began to surface all over the world. People called them Sacred Stones, and said they had come down with the star itself — a gift from the gods. A Stone would grant its power to anyone strong enough to wield it: the borrowed strength of an animal spirit. But those who could not contain what they had taken were consumed by it, and burned from within.
It took generations before anyone understood that the Stones were not all alike. Some carried predators. Some carried prey. A predator Stone always gave its bearer greater raw power and strength — but the prey Stones granted gifts of their own, of a kind the hunters never had.
Above every other Stone stood the dragon Stones. Only four were ever known to exist.
Borne by the first king of Eldeerath.
It turned its wielder into the first ogre — and so began their race.
Held by the Queen of the Seas.
Said to have never been found by anyone.
White Stones sat at the summit of every class. They were the purest, and they gave their bearers a closer, stronger contact with the animal spirit than any other Stone could.
For an age the world tore itself apart over them. Stones were lost in battle, and Stones were destroyed in it. Fewer than a hundred are said to remain anywhere in the world today.
The king decreed that only the strongest and the purest were fit to inherit a Stone. In practice it built a closed system: Stones passed from one noble house to another, or never left the same family at all, generation after generation.
Then the Church announced it had uncovered an ancient prophecy. If the world held its peace, and the Stones were used for good, Eldeerath would prosper and its people with it. If it did not, a second star would fall — and this time it would destroy everything and everyone, as punishment from the heavens.
The wars stopped. And for a time, Eldeerath knew peace.
Nobody ever found a black Stone.… or so they believed.
Every release, in order — what has shipped, what is in the room right now, and what is still on the board. Dates move when the work says they move.

A living corner of Eldeerath's northern province, running around the clock. One real hour is one day down there. Citizens keep their own schedules, weather turns, rumours spread, and the main cast appears when the story puts them in town. Tap a roof to look inside, tap a citizen to hear what they are saying, drag to pan.
Your Village build lives somewhere else right now. Point this frame at it and it will run inside the site — same chrome, same grade, no second tab.
Every piece is drawn for the series, not slapped on afterwards. Small runs, printed properly, shipped by one person. Buying one funds the next episode directly.
Every episode of Twisted Crown is scored with original music — dark, orchestral, and alive with the spirit of the world.

I'm Tora — 39 years old, husband, father. I've been drawing manga since childhood, long before I understood what storytelling really meant. I studied art at the Paul Klee Artistic Lyceum in Genoa, Italy, graduating in 2005. My real education, though, came from growing up immersed in manga and anime.
Twisted Crown is a passion project born from a lifelong love of anime and storytelling. I'm creating this dark fantasy epic entirely outside the traditional industry — no studios, no committees. Just pure creative freedom. Every frame, from the writing to the animation to the sound design, is crafted by one person with one obsession.
This is the anime I've always dreamed of. Bold, raw, and uncompromising. A tribute to the raw spirit of 90s anime. A legacy for my son — a tribute to my father.

Special CollaborationAlchill is an Italian YouTube channel devoted to anime and the culture around it. Together we produced the official Italian dub of the Twisted Crown pilot — and it was an honour to have Thoren voiced by Ivo De Palma, one of the best-known voice actors in Italian anime.
The collaboration continued afterwards across several podcast episodes.
